Come Celebrate and Vote!
Join us for some good food! As part of the year in review, our chapter will announce the 2014 Austin ISSA Presenter of the Year, share some of what we’ve done, where we’ve been, and who has joined us. The December Chapter meeting also serves as the formal election process for the 2015 Chapter Officers. You will hear from the candidates, and chapter members can vote for next year’s leaders. Nominations will be taken before the meeting via our website, and we will also accept nominations from the floor.
Notes from This Year’s Board
Need CPEs? Want to get better connected with the InfoSec community? Looking for leadership experience?
In which case you might wonder how much commitment it takes to serve on our chapter’s board of directors: Officers are expected to show up at the majority of our monthly board meetings (but everybody travels or gets stuck at work once in a while), and typically spend a few additional hours a month on their duties, such as preparing this Newsletter, arranging speakers for our chapter meetings, etc.
Please consider running for an office – our website has nomination forms and descriptions for most of the positions. We currently aren’t aware of anybody running for recording secretary, membership or sponsorship directors, and just as gladly would see additional members running for any of the other positions. Ask us if you have questions!
